Camp FAQs
-
The camps are 4 days long and run from Tuesday to Friday. Each day will start at 9:00am and finish at 3:00pm.
-
Camps will all start at 9:00am and end at 3:00pm. Locations will be communicated beforehand and children can be dropped off and picked up at the parking area of the day.
Parents/Guardians will be asked to provide the name of the adult picking up children at the end of the day. Please be sure to contact us if pickup plans change for your child. -
Parents/guardians will be ultimately responsible for the drop off and pick up of children. If parents are interested in sharing rides, please let us know. ROCK will, with permission, share information between parents/guardians who are interested in carpooling.
-
We ask that all kids be prepared to play in the rain. We have a variety of climbing activites and games for when it’s wet. We may end up doing adventure rapelling or rope games. If weather or wildfire smoke prevents us from operating outdoors, we have a list of contingencies, including going to the pool, or one of the local museums. If we change location due to weather/conditions, parents will all be notified as soon as possible in order to arrange pickup if it will be at a different location.

All kids will need to have their own lunch, snacks, and water. As we will be in the great outdoors, make sure that no food needs to be heated or kept cool. Sandwiches, nuts, fruit, and vegetables are always great options. Snacks such as fruit bars and granola bars are a great idea. Pack a full water bottle, as we’ll always encourage lots of hydration, but rest easy knowing that we will have extra water available.
Please let us know of any food allergies. We will communicate with all parents if there are any restrictions based on allergies. -
Age categories are determined by child’s age as of the first day of a program. For example, a child born on July 3rd, 2018 is too young to join the July 2nd camp for 6-8 year olds, but will be 6 years old in time for the August 6th camp.
-
Absolutely. Parents are welcome to join. Please note that everyone will be expected to act respectfully. Everyone will also be expected to wear a helmet. Any inappropriate behaviour towards staff or children may result in your child’s expulsion from the program.
-
Each camp will have a minimum of two ACMG qualified Top Rope Climbing Instructors or Apprentice Rock Guides. There will also be a camp counsellor who has been trained by a professional Mountain Guide. We pride ourselves on staff who are fun, inclusive, professional, and passionate about being outdoors and sharing that experiene with others.
-
Each camper’s spot is secured by booking through this website and paying a deposit. The rest of payment will be invoiced by email, and can be paid online, or by cash or cheque.
Full payment is due no less than two weeks before the start day of each camp. -
We are the new summer business of Pulse Boot Lab. This allows us to get outdoors and share our summer passion with the community after a busy winter!
